Editors note:
Due to the pressures of publishing deadlines, and the slightly
hungover state of your correspondent, the first edition of this
post detailing last night's performance of UBU REX, contained a
few errors of spelling, grammar and punctuation. What follows
is a corrected version...
Perfectly irresposible lunacy
UBU REX - the play
"Isn't injustice as good as justice?!!" the tyrant Pa Ubu barks.
Ubu, newly self-appointed King of Poland is about to dismember a large
number of that country's judges and government officials.
"Liquidate" is his preferred term. In his personal view injustice is "as
good as justice," and, as he later announces, "With this new system," (his
extortionate tax reform plan) "I'll make a fortune and then kill everyone
in the world and go away."
