LOWELL DARLING'S SECRET TO BE UNVEILED AT
GARAGE GALLERY IN BERKELEY, CA

 
Lowell Darling is well-known for his conceptual, political, performance and
video art.
 
Such endeavors include:
1) Nailing down cities due to excess weight due to overpopulation (1969-70).
2) Lacing up the San Andreas fault to prevent earthquakes (1970).
3) Acupuncture California (Needles, CA, 1978)
4) Hollywood Archaeology (a project begun in 1971, incorporated into the
first web site for the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1995).


He has participated in the Paris Biennale, the Venice Biennale, the Sao
Paolo Biennale, and he instigated the Bayenalle, an international artist
gathering in the Bay Area in 2005.
 
His work has received hours of prime time network television, and hundreds
of newspaper and magazine articles, including:
Rolling Stone, Esquire, Horizon, Time, Art in America (cover), Avalanche, Artforum,
Artnews, Craft Horizons, and arts canada.
