FROM STEINMEYER'S "CHARLES FORT" BOOK: pages 238,239

1) Working with his editor, Fort needed to finish a paragraph describing his philosophy of continuity, which said: "...if there is an underlying oneness of all things it doesn't matter where we begin, whether stars, laws of supply and demand, or frogs, or Napoleon Bonaparte." With a pencil, Fort added: "One measures a circle, beginning anywhere."

2) Theodore Dreiser invited Fort to meet Lillian Gish, the kind of social call Fort avoided. He made an exception for Gish. He was a particular fan of her movies. His wife said that movies "bored him to death, since he saw them every day; he got so he scarcely looked at some of them."
