...actions you can't stop watching. Except maybe the most gruesome moments, as Lillian did. There were a number of other films we wanted to see, but like I said, we don't have the stamina of Buckeye.

A large fluffy cat has been hanging around the neighborhood lately. It's obviously homeless, but looks too nice and acts to friendly. This really seems like someone's pet who has been outside for a few weeks, as opposed to the typical stray neighborhood cats.

It appears to be living out of the garbage. However, there doesn't seem to be anyone around here who knows what the story is.

The cat is mostly grayish brown, but has a white chest, nose, and paws. The fur is darker around the eyes, while the ears & tail are nearly black. Big and fluffy, but not fat. Could really be a nice looking cat after a good bath!

If this is your cat (or you would like to adopt it!) contact andrew at akoszzuta@yahoo.com.

88F this morning, and climbing.

Yesterday saw a wonderful new spanish film with Almodovar actresses and Geraldine Chaplin. Wry, dry, funny and dark. Then, around midnight, they showed PSYCHO on the side of the contemporary museum across the road from Cine Metro. I took photos, and recorded the first 18 minutes on a DAT recorder I had just bought for doing the interviews [which I have yet to do]. I kept recording as Lillian and I walked away to our car - we had to get home. It's a sound-art piece, I've called

PSYCHO, SJU 2010

There's a great mix of the sound-track of the film, coquis, busses, audience, car horns, and reggaeton. Then, at the end, we walk away right into the traffic.

Tonight, back to the movies, for a Mexican film called Ano Bisiesto. I thought it was Ano Besito. Besitos are kisses. Bisiesto is the leap, in leap year. Such is my confused state a la lingua espanol.

From the description: Laura is single, 25 year old journalist who lives in a small apartment in Mexico City. After a long series of flings to overcome her loneliness which have made her suicidal, she meets Arturo. The first time they make love Arturo overwhelms her. Then Laura's secret past surfaces driving Arturo to extremes. The story takes place in February of a Leap Year.

It is well known, but just as there are natural solutions to many diseases without the need to always fall on the artificial chemical formulas, just as there are proven natural methods to attack the mosquito is the transmitter of the disease.

Veamos alguno:

Here's one:

Coffee grounds to fight the mosquito that transmits dengue

While researching his master's thesis, scientific Laranja Alessandra of Sao
Paulo Institute of Biosciences, UNESP (Campus de Sao Jose do Rio Preto),
found that coffee grounds produces an effect that blocks the development of
the eggs of Aedes aegypti .

The process is fairly simple: To combat the mosquito, you can put coffee
grounds in the course of the pots, inside the leaves of plants, etc.

cero.

To prepare the solution with caffeine use two heaping tablespoons of coffee
grounds per half glass of water and placed in the dishes of the pots,
inside the plants and the earth, gardens or huertos.El mosquito develops
even in the thin film of water that sometimes forms on the hard ground of
the gardens and orchards, as well as water from the drains and other
containers that hold water (tires, bottles, cans, boxes of water) The
coffee grounds , which occurs daily in almost every house has a zero cost.

o huerto.

The only job is to put in plants or throw over the garden or orchard.

Explains the biologist, 500 micrograms of caffeine from coffee grounds per
milliliter of water blocks the development of the larvae in the second of 4
stages and reduces the lifetime of adult mosquitoes.

In their study, shows that the caffeine in coffee grounds alters the
esterases responsible for fundamental physiological processes such as
metabolism and reproductive hormones that could be verified because of the
effects on insect larva and adult. "It is not necessary to dilute the water
cleared for use," says the biologist.

animales y plantas.

insecticide spraying highly toxic to humans, animals and plants.

Puerto Rico Tourism Company says: PUERTO RICO, SAFER THAN NEVER BEFORE
SAN JUAN, PR
PRNewswire-USNewswire
October 7, 2010

In an address to the Puerto Rico Hotel & Tourism association (PRHTA) today, Puerto Rico Tourism Company's new executive director Mario Gonzalez Lafuente, told attendees that yesterday's indictment of 133 individuals identified as protecting drug traffickers will make the island safer for everyone, tourists included.

"The actions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were an important effort to reassure the public that the members of the Puertorican police force and other law enforcement officials will uphold the law, as they promised when they took their oath of office," said Gonzalez. "This will help ensure that all visitors to Puerto Rico, and indeed all Puertoricans, will be safer than ever before."

The Puerto Rico Tourism Company immediately adopted Gonzalez Lafuente's remark as their campaign slogan for the 2010/2011 tourist season, replacing the current slogan: DISCOVER WHY PUERTO RICO DOES IT BETTER.
